Book Week 2016

World Book Week Day Fancy Dress is an annual event in Straits International School. All students are expected to dress up as a character from a novel, poem or play (Mandarin, Bahasa or English). Students will stand a chance to win prizes for those who are judged best dressed.

House Sports Competition 2015

15 December 2015

Straits' first annual House sports competition of the year was held at the PDC field this morning for Key Stage 2 and Key Stage 3-4. In Key Stage 2, a House football competition was held for two age divisions: Year 3 & 4 and Year 5 & 6. Students, boys and girls, competed together for their House and played competitive games against the other Houses.

Twilight Concert 3

Pupils from the instrumental programme and IGCSE course took part in our third Twilight Concert yesterday organised by the Performing Arts department. Over 40 pupils performed to a full audience, with some pupils performing on more than one instrument.

Survival Training for Duke of Edinburgh

09 December 2015

The Duke of Edinburgh's International Award students participated in Survival Training yesterday organised by Gateway Sports. Lincoln, Malaysia's answer to Bear Grylls, came to school and showed the students how to set up a tent, build a fire and taught them how to survive in a jungle environment.

Creativity Day 2015

In conjunction with the November Open Day, Straits International School is organising its annual Creativity Day on 28thNovember 2015 (Saturday) from 10am to 3pm with the aim of encouraging and nurturing students’ abilities to innovate, create and think outside the box. This annual event aims to encourage student collaboration and foster ideas around a central theme. This year’s theme for Creativity Day is “Cleaner, greener, safer and healthier Penang”.
