What we learnt about this week
This week in English, the students learnt about the use of figurative language to create imagery in poems about the sea.
In Maths, we have been learning how to draw perimeter, area, bar charts, Venn and Carroll diagrams.
In Science this week, we continued to learn about sound and investigated ways to muffle sound. We ran an investigation by using different materials to muffle the ringing sound of an alarm clock.
In Humanities, Year 4 learnt about the Anglo-Saxons, who they were and when they invaded Britain.
What we plan for next week
In English, we will begin creating leaflets to display our persuasive writing in the form of advertisements.
Next week in Maths, we will be doing some practice test questions and mental maths problems.
Next week, in Science, we will be learning about pitch and volume. We will also be revising the topic, Electricity.
In Humanities, students will examine the reasons for the influence and changes brought about by the Anglo-Saxons, during their historical prominance in Britain.
For English, create a poem about a butterfly, using figurative language.
In Maths, students are to Finish Thinking Numbers (2) and do page 97, 99, 102 and 103 of the textbook.
Our Science homework is to complete page 73 in the Science workbook.
In Humanities, research the Anglo Saxons using the link on Edmodo and write down five interesting facts about them.
