What we learnt about this week
This week in English, we have been exploring diary writing with a link to our class book ‘The Diary of a Killer Cat’. We have planned and written a three day diary based on an animal.
In Maths, we have been completing our topics linked to ‘Time’, ‘Weight and Capacity’ and ‘Money’. We have also spent time closing the gap for these topics.
In Science, we have been closing the gap across various topics across the year through activities and discussions and revisiting the Science workbook.
In P.S.H.E, we have been focusing on the Straits Seven, particularly ‘Compassion’. We have been learning what it means and how we can use it in day to day life.
What we plan for next week
Next week in English, we will be practising our spelling, reading and handwriting as well as practising our speaking and listening skills through various games.
Next week in Maths, we will be practising our times tables and spelling of numbers through a variety of engaging games and activities.
Next week in Science, we will be discussing what we enjoyed and disliked in Science this year as well as reflecting on what we need to practise next year.
Next week in P.S.H.E, we will be reflecting on how we have changed throughout the year, what we are looking forward to in Year Three and discussing any changes that will be happening by moving to Key Stage Two.
Homework will be given out on Thursday and we ask that homework be handed in on Tuesday. This week’s homework consists of handwriting practice, one side of Maths, one side of English. As well as this, we ask that your child is reading the Oxford Reading Tree book as well as any other reading materials daily.
Your child’s Edmodo username and password is in their school planner if you and your child would like to access Edmodo to revisit educational games and activities.
