What we learnt about this week
This week in English, we have completed our report about endangered animals and have revisited spelling, reading and comprehension skills.
In Maths, we have explored measurement by looking at mass and capacity.
In Science, we went on a school trip to Penang Hill to visit The Habitat. We also completed close the gap activities for our recent topic ‘Living Things.
In Humanities, we have we went on a school trip to Penang Hill to visit The Habitat to support our learning on The Environment.
What we plan for next week
Next week in English, we will be looking at our new book, Diary of a Killer Cat and predicting what will happen in the story. We will also be reading it and answering comprehension questions.
Next week in Maths, we will start our new topic, ‘Money’. We will look at British money and how it is similar to Malaysian money. We will also use role play to set up a shop to buy things.
Next week in Science, we will be starting our new topic ‘Electricity’ and exploring different types of electricity by identifying whether it is used by the mains or by using batteries.
Next week in Humanities, we will be starting our new topic, ‘Inventions’. We will be looking at some very important inventions from the Victorian era and how they have impacted our modern lives.
Homework will be given out on Thursday and we ask that homework be handed in on Tuesday. This week’s homework consists of handwriting practice, one side of Maths, one side of English. As well as this, we ask that your child is reading the Oxford Reading Tree book as well as any other reading materials daily.
Your child’s Edmodo username and password is in their school planner if you and your child would like to access Edmodo to revisit educational games and activities.
